Bread and butter is forever, is the slogan. There is a slushy modern fairy tale about how David and Charlotta met working in a bakery and fell in love. Fortunately for them they had second jobs in finance and within four months of opening their bakery in 2008 in Stockholm they had a second and now they are in London and New York. All very Scandi cliché cool. The original London bakery is in the arches by Hoxton station with a few chairs squeezed in among the baking trays but you have a sense of being at the source of something good. You cannot argue with the quality of the bread. The cinnamon rolls are popular and no surprise to find kambucha rather than coke.
